I devour many books on the prophetic and they all have their place in my growth and maturity, but this book I feel is very healthy and useful for people who feel they are called to the office of prophet. So many young and inexperienced prophets have no idea of what a New Covenant prophet actually looks like and this lack of knowledge and understanding can wreak so much havoc on people, churches and countries.Kris, through humility in using his own story, and by proper use of scripture not only shows what a New covenant prophet is, but does it in such an easy to understand way in conversational English.Kris goes on to speak about 6 types of prophets that influence nations and from these perhaps you can see where you fit, if at all.He goes on to give some invaluable insight and tips how to conduct yourself when meeting leaders and people in authority.It is well worth thle purchase price and is very very awesome.With loveMatthew Robert PayneAuthor of The Prophetic Supernatural Experience and 6 other books on Amazon
I just recently finished this book and was incredibly happy with the end result. Kris does a great job in remaining vulnerable about not only the subject of prophecy but his first-hand experience with it. This is something I've found missing from many other books on this subject. It brought a sense of humanity to the understanding of prophecy, rather than this awe-inspiring 'you better obey' direct word from the Lord. As someone who read the book for a better understanding of what prophecy is, how it can exist and be culturally relevant today, and understanding the difference between the gift of prophecy and the office of a prophet, I'd give it an A+I think many people can write about prophecy, but I applaud Kris and am so thankful he took the time to share the practical wisdom he's gained through his own trial and error.
I have worn out my highlighters on this book! As a pastor who has studied the prophetic for years, this is the most balanced teaching on the prophetic I have ever read! Often the most misunderstood of the five fold ministry (many times for good reason and brought upon themselves), the prophet is often the black sheep. This book brings amazing clarity, instruction, accountability, and subsequently freedom to those operating under this mantle. A MUST READ for any pastor desiring to understand the prophet...and as a pastor myself, this would be a REQUIRED read for anyone functioning or learning to function as a prophet within my sphere of influence.
Refreshing and Thought-provokingFor years I have studied, engaged in, and activated others in the prophetic. Doing so gave me the opportunity to learn numerous hard lessons regarding this potent and powerful administration. Therefore, I am NOT easily impressed by much that is written on the prophetic today. Unfortunately much is verbatim and repetitive in which authors do not present new ideas, concepts, and fresh perspectives within this arena.HOWEVER, Kris Vallotton has impressed me as he intertwines Personal experiences, Biblically-supported principles, and clear passion for Prophets and Prophetic people in this text for the sole purpose of helping many navigate this administration, which is by and large still a mystery to many within God's Body.This text in my opinion is one worthy of study, contemplation, and reading time and time again, for within its pages is wisdom from someone who has clearly made many mistakes and experienced many triumphs in this arena.As such, I encourage prophetic people both young and old to consider the perspective of this respected prophet and teacher. You will NOT be disappointed
This book was simplistic in terms yet very powerful. I appreciate the real life experiences that were shared as they served as a mighty testament of how no matter how holy or upright we endeavor to walk daily, we are human and subject to error.I mostly appreciated all the testimonies and tips for dealing with foreign leaders and how to appropriately conduct ourselves. This too is my calling but as I had never known anyone who has walked this path previously, nor seen it done, I was at a loss for these simple fundamental basics.I appreciate this book and will be using it as a reference as I move my feet forward into my God given destiny.
