I share their high regard for this book and its co-authors. That book and As We Speak complement each other almost seamlessly. For example, the Heaths provide a brilliant explanation of the "what" and "why" of stickiness whereas Meyers and Vann provide an equally brilliant explanation of the "how" as well as why what they recommend is so effective.Here in a single volume is just about all you need to know about high-impact communication, especially after checking out the Heaths' book and reviewing the Six Principles that all sticky ideas demonstrate. The potential applications of what Meyers and Nix hare are almost unlimited because there are so many opportunities to achieve high-impact communication. The audience could be a single person or members of a governing board or several thousand people. The same principles apply: outstanding content + compelling delivery = high impact. As Warren Beatty suggests, "They may forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel."After explaining in the first chapter how to ensure that a speech is outcome-focused, relevant, and on point, Meyers and Nix note that when taking the next step, "you can't just start slapping bricks together. First, you need to know where they go. You need a design. I found many of the techniques were ones I already used in my writing and my speaking. It was great to have some new slants on these techniques that I might incorporate into future presentations to maximize my effectiveness. It is written not for preachers but for any public speaker and is oriented toward professional business people in the corporate world. It positively changed the way I prepare and deliver sermon. I only wish I had this book 20 years. It would have made my life easier and my ministry more effective.

This book contains some great points, but often gets mired down in its own sense of self-importance if that makes sense; it simply drags in places. Of course, that is probably unavoidable given the material, which is fascinating but not necessarily fresh, new or unfamiliar. This book is mostly good though, and has improved my communication with my employees significantly.

The story of a little ballerina is very sweet. It is a story of a little girl about to do her first ballerina recital. The book goes through the five positions in ballet and more.The illustrations take the book to a whole other level. My grandchildren have several Joey Chou prints in each of their bedrooms so I am always looking for something with his artwork. When I found this story, both the mother and the daughter reminded me of my daughter and granddaughter so I had to buy the book. I even have a picture of our little one which looks like it belongs in the book.Very sweet and, as always, Golden Books are such a wonderful bargain. I had them as a child, bought them for my children, and am now buying them for grandchildren. Amazingly, we still have most of the books that have been in my family for decades.

My 3-year old girl liked the book a lot. She is getting interested in ballet and this book explains what it's all about in a very simple manner. I recommend it for little girls who are ready to start their ballet classes and want to know more about them.

My daughter loves this story and so do I - so much so that I don’t mind reading it to her over and over when she asks for it again and again. Lovely little story with adorable illustrations and the ballerina “matches me mommy” looks just like my daughter.

My ballet-obsessed toddler insisted on reading this book over and over... and over... and over.... and now she has it memorized. It's not a classic Little Golden Book, but the illustrations are adorable and the story is sweet.

Adorable! A wonderful gift individually or with another ballet related item. I paired the book with a ballerina (cloth) doll (pink hair and tutu and ballet shoes) also purchased on Amazon. Both elicited smiles from the pre-school toddler excited about ballet.

I purchased this for my 3 year old daughter for part of her ballerina bag. She loves listening to the story (and so do the other children) before each class. Her instructor signed her book as well. This is now one of her favorite books and keeps it with her bag to read each week.

This little Golden Book is going together with a fabric ballerina doll as a gift to 2 year old great-granddaughter. I can visualize her snuggling with her dollie and her daddy read the "I'm A Ballerina" book to her at bedtime.

This book is delightful! My daughter loves to dance around while I read the book to her. I am so glad I bought it.

I have used this little recipe book for years. I enjoy many of the maple syrup recipes. They are distinct recipes. With a delicious, slightly different salad or appetizer, my friends ask for the recipe! I buy this recipe book and leave maple syrup along with this little book as a thank you for my hosts.

The book is extremely small, about 5 inches by 5 inches. The text is written in a light creamy brown on a creamy paper so not very easy to read (besides being so small). There is no much on maple syrup or info on the recipes. No new recipes for using maple syrup than what's on most websites.

I bought this as a gift for my son who taps every spring. There is a charming short history of making maple syrup in America, going back to the original craft by Native Americans teaching the European settlers in the 1600's, and the abolitionist-patriotic practice of making maple syrup instead of using cane sugar in the 1800's. The recipes cover every meal course, starting with salad, right through dessert. Fun book, nicely printed.
