I switched to Capture One after using Lightroom for many years. In some ways, the transition was easy; many of the tools are similar between the two, and much of the workflow seemed intuitive. But there's always confusion when you switch to new software. Capture One's help site was pretty much useless; if anything, they added to the confusion. Whether it's a language/translation barrier or what, I don't know, but I was never able to get clear answers to most of my questions. I found a couple videos online that helped a little, but this book helped immensely! I always find it easier to learn from a book than from watching videos, and this one is well organized and clearly written. I have Capture One 11 and the book is for version 10, but it seems the differences are minor. Highly recommended.
Good book. But Pro 11 was issued about a week after I got the book. I feel like a dope or dog chasing its tale.

This is nothing like Martin Evening's books on Photoshop and Lightroom. Rather superficial coverage of the program; difficult to follow as you need to jump around in the book to complete explanations of features - difficult on the Kindle version.I can not recommend this book
Excellent resource for learning capture one
I'm new to post processing and ordered this book to help me make sense of the Capture One software that is provides free to Sony camera users. I had hoped for a step by step guide to using the software, but this book is definitely not that. It is full of jargon I don't understand, and is practically useless for my purpose. Not recommended for beginners.
I've been using capture one since version 7. It's not a program for hobbyists, it's a powerful tool for serious photographers. There's a fairly steep learning curve, but everything is customizable to fit your workflow and once you get it down you'll be able to shoot, organize, edit and process faster than ever.I have the capture 9 book and it goes fairly deep into the capture one system, I was learning new things in the first chapter. Capture is very powerful, probably even overkill for most people, and you definitely won't master it in a weekend but this series does a decent job breaking it down into digestible sections. It's also the only game in town for learning the Capture system outside of Phase One's basic & advanced user workshops.
