As the title suggests, Game of Thrones and other movie/media jokes about in this collection of Sunday cartoons by the great Bill Amend. We also see more of 10-yr-old Jason's eternally frozen in latency yet evolving non-relationship with classmate Elaine, which is especially welcome as it shows a female character in a role other than harried mom or clothing obsessed teen. Not that Amend doesn't see -- and show -- the humor latent in those tropes, but Elaine is a breath of fresh air. Amend also has terrific fun with topics NO ONE else has the wits to riff off: physics, math, biology, and the easier topics of school lunches, holiday debacles, and sibling rivalry. Aging dads and sports obsessed boys are the low hanging fruit, but no matter the topic, Amend finds fresh humor. This is one of the few genuinely funny comics left. So enjoy!

When Bill Amend closed up shop on daily strips, I was worried. Sundays are a rough prospect for a strip has been neaty Mon-Fri storyline driven for years, but somehow someway, he's kept the magic going. I've read Foxtrot for 25+ years and the quality has kept consistent that entire time. If you like Foxtrot, this book is for you.

What can I say? Fox Trot is the funniest strip I read and thankfully, I am not disappointed by Bill Amend's latest.

It turns out, this is a cartoon book about a family with the last name of Fox. I was expecting an art book with scenes from Game Of Thrones acted out by actual foxes.It was still an entertaining read. My cat, Cornelius J. Vanderfluff, especially loves the materiel the cover is made out of. He will not cease sleeping on it.

Really enjoyed this. Love these characters, just wish for more Quincy, whom is my favourite.

The kids have had this book for 2 weeks and have already read it start to finish at least twice. We all love it.

Since this book was required for the last class I have to take for my degree, I had no choice but to buy it. It thoroughly covers polymers at a graduate level. It doesn't waste your time going over topics that were covered in organic chemistry I & II, which is a good thing.Why the three stars then? The author could have done a much better job presenting the information. What do I mean? Well, for example on page 23 when discussing synthetic rubbers he just mentions "IIR" and you should somehow know that it stands for "isobutylene isoprene rubber". This is right after he mentions ABS, which you have to infer from the previous paragraph that it stands for "acrylonitrile butadiene rubber". It seems like every few pages you have to stop and back into the information that he should have simply stated. This prolongs study sessions quite a bit.The homework problems are also pretty useless. My instructor did not assign homework so I had no way of testing my knowledge of the material because this book does not provide answers to any of the homework problems. Is it required? No, but since most textbooks have answers in the back for the even or odd problems, I feel like this one should as well.Overall, 3 stars=average. Nothing spectacular but nothing seriously wrong either.

I'm really enjoying this book. It has a fair bit of practical advice on how to test polymers (more please!!!) and gives lots of facts about their structure, function and properties.TGA (Thermo Gravimetric Analysis) and Raman spectra don't get much of a mention... but it's certainly seems to cover a lot of areas.It was surprisingly hard to find a polymers book that covered most of the basic facts... despite asking for suggestions from a number of polymer chemists and searching online. This suggests that there are very few good books which meet this need.From the undergrad perspective (my undergrad project is in polymers) this is a quite readable and very useful text. I'm just sorry that they don't teach us more about polymers at Uni: they've dropped polymers as an elective entirely (lecturer retired and not replaced).Polymers are a very interesting area of chemistry... and this book certainly helps explain why.

Publication under the CRC/Taylor and Francis Group makes this book more readily available in the U.S. than were previous editions.

This book takes me back to my childhood in the Blue Ridge, and Smokey Mountains. My family settled in the Black Mountain area(near Asheville) in Buncome county in the late 1600's. We are those Southern people the book describes as the "Black Irish" mixed with Cherokee. We talk about food while eating food, laughing way too loud and are too boisterous at the table. So, the pie recipies brought back sweet memories of picking wild blackberries along the roadside and hauling the buckets to my Grandmother so she would make us pies and jelly. It reminds me of peeling hundreds of Georgia peaches bought by the bushel, so the woman in the kitchen could turn them into canned pie fillings, peach jam, spiced peaches, and peach leather for all of our households.I love the antidotes, they are so full of the mountain people's knowledge carried down through the centuries. It is a book that is legit. The recipies are spot on. It is a book that made me yearn for my ancestors who are gone and buried in the heart of the mountains. Their stories are repeated to their great, great grandchildren today. This is what makes the book so important. It is carrying the old ways into the 21's century saving hundreds of years of lore and good food. I highly recommend buying this antidote filled cookbook.

I send this to my mom's best friend - a cook, historian, and all around expert on all things Kentucky mountain. She loved it and had never seen a book to match it. She's entertaining the long cold winter hours in the mountains and reading about things she loves. Thanks.

I really love this book! It combines my favorite subject ( Southern comfort food ) with a charming and incredibly interesting history of Southern Appalachia and it's people. The photographs and quotes make the book even more meaningful, and even though some of the recipes aren't really "do-able" nowadays due to requiring ingredients that are difficult to find or even not things most people normally eat today ( squirrel, groundhog, sorghum, to name a few ), the book still holds some gem recipes mixed in with oddities, humor, and the rich folklore! If one wants to learn how the pioneers "put up" foods of all types; the best ways to can, freeze, dry, pickle, or cure almost any food in order to keep it seemingly indefinately, this book has several chapters with complete information and great pictures as to how it was done over the years of homesteading by the many different cultures who immigrated to America. Being of Native American heritage myself, mingled with Scots-Irish, I found the book to be a precious history of my own people and their struggle for survival. Although not cheap, this book is well worth the Amazon price, not just for the recipes, history, and food related information of the times, but for all the wonderful stories and photographs it includes.

This is one of those books that tries to bridge the gap between cooking and cultural history. It mostly succeeds. The stories are a delight to read. Some are a bit too charming, unless you like that sort of thing. The recipes are traditional. As a prior reviewer noted there are a few errors, but I did not find them widespread.Get this book if you want a good collection of some Southern recipes and some good tales.

My paternal heritage is North Carolina and through reading this I discovered the food of my childhood was Appalachian, not Southern. There is a difference. Gave me lots of good reading and recipes.

I was spellbound ready this story, 'Daughters of the Dragon.' This is a gripping story of an extremely sad time in history. It's unimaginable what these comfort women endured, it's horrific. The story is narrated by the grandmother to her newly found granddaughter. This is a story of survival by a very strong woman who sacrificed her entire life to make it on her own and the love of her daughter. There is nothing in the world that could ever repay these women for their treatment during and after the war. This book made a lasting impression on me and I'm grateful the author shared their story with us. This would make an excellent movie some day. A 5 Star reading for sure!

It is a story about Korea during WWII and beyond through the eyes of a family of women. It tells the story of comfort women the Japanese enslaved during the war, something I was totally unaware of as an avid and perpetual student of history. At the end of the book, which I read in one evening, While it is a novel, not a history book, it brought to life the misery of Korea's recent evolution from the perspective of those who suffered so much. I found myself wanting more. Great read.

Once in a while a book comes along and you find that you don't want to put it down as soon as you start reading, well, this has been one of those. I was mesmerized by the story, captivated by the characters and emotionally embroiled in what could be defined as the most brutal and horrendous historically accurate events that happened during WWII. Although this is a work of fiction, it was based completely on facts and Mr. William Andrews weaves a consummate story of courage, spiritual strength and love in the face of unspeakable atrocities and crimes committed in the name of war.I also learned a lot about Korean history and how the country ended up being split by the powerful nations of both the East and West. When I finished reading it, I was overjoyed to discover that there is a sequel coming out in March. Needless to say I've already pre-ordered it.If you noticed I haven't said a word about the plot, it is because I want you to discover it for yourselves and be dumbstruck like I was.

Until I read this book, I had never heard of the numbers of young girls and women thrown into such a horrible fate. This story needed to be told. The author brought the characters to life though their dramatic day to day experiences. Courage and perseverance saved many. Powerful images throughout the read. I thought it may have been a downer, but the more I read I realized how strong some of these women truly were. No amount of money could ever pay them for the innocence lost. Shame on Japan for not admitting the crimes and atrocities to these remarkable women.

William Andrews provides the reader with a story based on WW2 that I don't remember hearing about in my history classes, and it's a story that I'm glad I now know.After her American adoptive mother dies, Anna Carlson is curious to learn more about her Korean birth mother. When she arrives in Korea, she locates her birth mother's house, only to discover that her Korean grandmother, who put her up for adoption after her mother died in childbirth, is living there. Once they've become acquainted, grandmother has a story to tell, and it will be a long one. Anna is anxious because she has a cab waiting to take her back to her hotel to catch her return flight, but she settles in as the story begins.As grandmother's story unfolds, Anna learns about how her female relatives were tricked into serving as "comfort women" for the Japanese army during their WW2 occupation of Korea. Her grandmother and her sister were victims of that atrocity, but were eventually separated while her sister was healing after an abortion.As the story continues, grandmother's resourcefulness and determination to rise above the indignities she suffered emerge, all the while assuming that her sister died from the abortion. Working as a barmaid, she refuses the extra money available by being a "juicy girl" but engages in conversation with an official who provides an opportunity. She has great skill with languages, which she uses first to help interpret and write treaties between North and South Korea that, to this day, remain ineffective. After escaping to South Korea, she applies those skill working as an interpreter for a large construction company, ultimately helping them secure essential bank financing. Unfortunately, her employers learn about her history as a "comfort woman," leaving her without a job. She is also pregnant but determined to deliver and provide for her unborn child.At the center of this story is a Korean icon: a comb decorated by 2 dragons, each with 5 toes. It's significance isn't clear at first, but as the story unfolds, we discover that the dragon comb has been handed down from mother to daughter for many generations; the 5 toes indicate a connection to a revered queen from many years ago. Somehow the comb has remained with grandmother since receiving it from her older sister, and now it's time to hand it down to the next daughter, Anna. Unfortunately, Korea does not allow official artifacts to leave the country, and the Korean police are determined not to let Anna leave with it in her possession. Of course, Anna figures out how to get it out of Korea without having her flight delayed.Before leaving, Anna promises grandmother to see whether she can find her sister, whom she heard might still be alive in North Korea. Despite tensions between North and South Korea, Anna is determined to fulfill her promise to a woman she barely knows, except through the story of her life 60 years ago. Officials in America are able to verify grandmother's story, so they agree to begin the process of setting up a reunion meeting in Korea. It's a long, expensive process, but with her father's financial support, Anna returns to Korea to fulfill her promise, with the dragon comb carefully wrapped in her pocket.In the course of the story, we learn about wartime atrocities, but we also learn about how one woman's desire to learn about her birth mother leads her to a family history and it's cultural influence on her present and future life. The last page of the book presents that influence in a powerfully understated manner.Finally, the narrative voice employed by Andrews presents the story as if it were written by Anna herself. This is a "must read"!!

Terrific, page-turner, A class historical fiction! I devoured it in two days flat.I knew next to nothing about Korean history before I read this book. I didn't know why the nation was divided, or the WW II and Cold War histories of how it came about that North Korea is communist and South Korea is a republic. Now I have a framework of information about that and I can build on it if I want. In my opinion, that is something good historical fiction should be able to do, and I am grateful to the author.it is interesting how the author takes advantage of the heroine's equal knowledge and experience of both kinds of government to help draw comparisons between them.There is a lot of strong stuff in this book. The truth of what happened to the comfort women is not easy to read about, and the subsequent life of Jae-hee is difficult. This starts out reading like a YA book, but it definitely is not one! Be warned that if a pleasant fairy tale or emotional trip is what you are looking for, this book will not provide it.Powerful topics that need to be discussed are written about here ...

I bought this book, even though there are no photos of the projects included within. The projects are really beautiful, and I'm glad I got the book, with a BIG caveat. The patterns are included at a reduced scale in the back of the book, which presents a few problems...- Getting the 1:5 patterns printed at the usual places (Staples/Fedex Kinko's) is going to be a pain in the arse. My local Staples couldn't even DO that size, and at FK, it was going to cost over $100 for one large print.- Blowing them up, either on a copy machine or by scanning and then enlarging, leads to print outs with low quality, so you'll have to do something about that if you want your patterns to be useable.- Getting them printed elsewhere may be a problem, because most places won't touch a Copyrighted work. Mine was willing, based on the instructions in the book that clearly state you can take it to a print shop, but your results may vary.What I did was scan the images on my scanner, do the enlarging in Photoshop, amp up the contrast as much as possible, save the image as a Photoshop PDF, open it in Acrobat Reader and print as a banner so that it would print on multiple pages. Then I took a fine Sharpie marker to go over the lines where they were difficult to see. A pain in the butt, to be sure, and time consuming.But, given all of that, I would still buy this book again, so that ought to tell you something about the quality of the book and the projects.EDIT: I learned more info that might be helpful.- Most Staples DO print on a machine that prints 36" wide and variable length, so it's possible to have this done there.- Scan the images in yourself if you can, then do the following in Photoshop or similar: - Crop the scan tightly around the pattern pieces - Set the image to Greyscale/ remove the color data (this will help you get a cleaner image once its blown up) - Increase the image size by the specified amount - Up the contrast as much as you can - Save the image as a PDF- At my store, the pages ended up costing me between $3 and $6 each, depending on the size.- You can have it printed on engineering paper, which is the most economical option, and works perfectly well for cutting out and mounting to poster board pages (which don't come large enough for the long strap or gusset pieces, but I'm just going to use two laid out end to end for those pieces when I get to them).

This book is lovely to look at and the projects are current and useful, I would make most of them. But I was disappointed to find no specifics about the supplies/tools or resources for them. The leather used in the projects shown use a variety of thicknesses and yet there is no information about that or even what was used in each project or what/how much you would need for the individual projects. I guess you're supposed to enlarge your pattern, lay it out and figure out the size piece you need from there but I still wouldn't really know what thickness to buy. The pages on tools give you some basic descriptions but don't match the description to the items in the pictures so you have to guess which is which. Doesn't really help me understand them very well. This book says it is so everyone can do this and yet it falls way short on giving you the information you really need to move forward. It isn't useful without another book or lots of research. I was very disappointed.

When I first saw the leather backpack on the cover of this book, I immediately fell in love with it's simple design and its copper patina color. Having never worked with leather before, I was compelled to have a closer look at the whole book. Flipping through the pages of the book I found to my surprise that working with leather is not as intimidating as I thought and that I can sew that backpack and all the other projects in the book by hand. All needed materials and tools as well as techniques for cutting the leather, hole punching, and sewing are described in detail at the beginning of the book. Patterns can be found at the end of the book and need to be enlarged to scale on a copier or at a copy shop.Every project is made of plain leather. The style is aesthetic and utilitarian. The different bags and the satchel look very sturdy.You can find a whole variety of leather items with appeal for women and men. Beginners can start out with the smaller items in the book, which are also good for using up leather scraps. I think I will invest in a few tools and start out with a simple project, like the tablet cover. Overall, I can only recommend this book.P.S.: The patterns for the office In-Box and the Document Holder are designed for A4 paper format and have to adjusted in the US to fit standard letter format.

It’s good book for very beginner. If you already know leather crafting then level is too low.

I had come across many references to this book in other works on the Great War, and finally got around to reading it. In general I avoid unit histories, because many are poorly written and factually suspect, with the unit's accomplishments overstated its setbacks downplayed or ignored. This, however, is an extraordinary book. Reading it is probably as close as we can ever come to the actual conditions of infantrymen, not just the times in the line and under fire, but the marching, training, bivouacking, recreation, and other details of their lives. Captain Dunn writes with clarity and insight, and while he makes an attempt to be fair, he does not shy away from calling a fool by his rightful name. He is especially good at recreating the frustrations of Staff and bureaucratic idiocy and incompetence. This book is most highly recommended for anyone with an interest in the Great War.For the digital version, a comment needs to be made regarding the accuracy of the scan. I am grateful that a digital version exists, so that I did not have to lug around a paperback as thick as Moby Dick, but there are a number of errors that readers have to deal with. The good news is that the digitization software does a fine job recognizing words, and the reader can go many pages without encountering an error. The main problem the software has seems to be converting the 'cl' letter combination to 'd', so that clock/close/clear become dock/dose/dear. A much bigger problem is that the software struggles to recognize numbers. The error rate here must be around 5%, which may not sound like a lot, but it breaks the narrative and irritates the reader. Some of the digitization errors are so common that eventually the reader begins to automatically recognize and correct for them, but that is not an excuse for sloppy (or nonexistent) proofreading. Herewith are some of the Greatest Hits a reader of the digital version will have to accommodate himself to: 10 becomes 'to'; 15 becomes 'IS'; 50= 'so'; 100 = 'too'; 200 = 'Zoo', 800='goo'; and 1000, inexplicably, is 'moo'. Sometime in the distant future, when paper copies are gone, scholars may puzzle over repeated references to the British Army's 'Tooth Brigade' without realizing it was actually the 100th Brigade. Alas.

I first read this book in 1991 and passed it amongst so many friends it got lost, so had to re-purchase it. Finely edited compilation that tells the story of the Royal Welch Fusiliers in WWI. BEST description of trench life and warfare I have ever read. Also details the dreariness of garrison duty, unit rotations, etc. If you are a student of WWI, you will most likely find this book is extensively used as reference source and quoted often in so many other WWI books

amazing book. must have been the "textbook" for the monty python series. sobering and comical at the same time. absurdity often displayed in the events. orders coming from those too far removed from the fronts. orders arriving too late to keep up with rapidly changing events. so glad I wasn't there. But an excellent book.

I arrived at this book in a very roundabout way. My son forgot his Playstation 4 when he returned to university after the Thanksgiving holiday. I had been watching him playing Battlefield 1, which is a popular World War 1 first person shooter game. I decided to give it a go and enjoyed it very much. This sparked a desire to learn more about this war-to-end-all-wars. At a used book shop I picked up GOODBYE TO ALL THAT by Robert Graves, the famous author and poet. A good part of that book was about his First World War service as an officer of the Royal Welch Fusiliers. That book led to a discovery of this book, THE WAR THE INFANTRY KNEW, 1914-1919, which is a compiled wartime history of the Royal Welch Fusiliers. I gave the book three stars (3 STARS), but this middling rating has mostly to do with the fact that in digitalizing the book, numbers did not accurately "translate." To illustrate, if the author wrote something like, "The German lines were 100 yards away," the kindle version that I purchased might read, "The German lines were m00 yards away." This happens often enough that I found it very annoying indeed. As to the book itself, the reader needs to know that it is an compilation of recollections of daily happenings in the very same Royal Welch Fusiliers Regiment in which Robert Graves served. There is a lot of "inside baseball" here, as well as colloquial British linguistic and military terminology circa 100 years ago. I believe the readership was intended to be veterans of the regiment. If one can accept a little side homework, this book IS A GEM. I give the content 4 to 5 STARS.

About the Author

J. Philippe Rushton is a professor of psychology at the University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario, Canada. Rushton holds two doctorates from the University of London (Ph.D. and D.Sc) and is a Fellow of the John Simon Guggenheim Foundation, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the American, British, and Canadian Psychological Associations. He is also a member of the Behavior Genetics Association, the Human Behavior and Evolution Society, and the Society for Neuroscience. Rushton has published six books and nearly 200 articles. This book, which first appeared in 1995, is J Philippe Rushton's magnum opus. His introduction is an unusually personal story. Here is his biography in a nutshell.He was born in England in 1943. He studied in England and Berkeley, coming up in what is called the London school of psychometricians, following in the steps of Francis Galton, Charles Spearman and Karl Pearson, who developed the science of statistics as much to research human intelligence as for any other reason. Working with Hans Eysenck and other scholars of the age, he embraced sociobiology from its inception with EO Wilson and Richard Dawkins in the 1970s.Rushton's research into human differences brought him into conflict with the academic leftists who had ascended to leadership positions in the major universities. These included Stephen Jay Gould, Richard Lewontin, and Steven Rose. The cultural Marxists pursued and persecuted him everywhere, preventing his work from getting published, having him banned from conferences, and physically attacking him. Google "Resolute Ignorance on Race and Rushton" for a well written account of the abuse that he took.This is a long book, laden with tables and accounts of statistical studies. This is as it must be in order to present a convincing argument. The human being is inherently difficult to measure. It is literally impossible to get a representative sample for any statistical study. The truth must lie in the correlation of many, many studies. In this instance, the correlation of studies of populations in the United States, the Caribbean and Africa. The correlation of people who are black by genetic analysis, self report, and skin color. Factoring in the admixture of other races. Using school samples that knowingly omit, must omit children who are not capable of performing schoolwork and children who have dropped out. Rushton writes extensively about his methodology, and extensively once again on the large numbers of studies that more or less concur in order to support his theses.I recommend that the reader Google "rushton-the-great-theoetician.pdf" (with the misspelling intact) for a 20-page paper that quite aptly and fully summarizes his work. Turn to this complete book for the thorough analysis necessary to support his conclusions.All the previous researchers in the London school, in fact all psychometricians, have observed that there are racial differences in average intelligence. Although there are geniuses in every population, such as Thomas Sowell, Paul Robison and Clarence Thomas among modern Blacks, the average measured intelligence of African Blacks, American Blacks, American Indians, Hispanics, Caucasian Americans, North Asians and Ashkenazi Jews is spread out over a wide spectrum. At the extremes, less than a 10th of one percent of black Africans would be smarter than the average Ashkenazi Jew. Joseph Conrad's portrayal of the races in "The Heart of Darkness" rings true.Rushton advocates what he calls the life history approach to racial differences. Succinctly put, there are two broad reproductive strategies among sexually reproducing organisms. Aspens and oysters produce a vast number of fertile seeds which they disseminate into the water in the air. Only a very few grow, but it is enough to perpetuate those species. Avocados and orangutans invest a great deal in protecting their progeny. The avocado fruit and seed are very rich, and the orangutan bears a child only every three or four years, investing a great deal of maternal attention in that child. Baby avocados and orangutans have a good chance of reaching adulthood.These divergent reproductive strategies are called r/K selection: r for rate of reproduction, K for carrying capacity. Though all humans are highly K specialized, Mongoloids are the most, and Africans the least. This is the source of the controversy.In summary, I recommend that the curious reader first look at the two articles I cite above, and buy the book if you want more. From a perspective of population genetics research, this book contains some useful data and concepts, which I will summarize below. Much of the integrated framework centering around race is misleading in a modern evolutionary context. For example, what is race? Skin pigmentation? Eye shape? These are evolutionary responses to specific environmental stimuli. Skin pigmentation may have evolved separately in the east and west, in response to an agricultural diet deficient in vitamin D, and living at a latitude with reduced UV light. Originally all human skin darkened after protective fur was lost, to prevent skin cancer. If a people move to a new region and change diet their skin color will change. Blue eyes actually evolved first, and are thought to mitigate seasonal affective disorder in northern low-light environments. All life forms now present have a 4 billion year ancestry and none are especially superior or inferior to any other. Confront a crocodile in its own environment if you don't believe me. Even a mosquito can kill you. This point perhaps the author misses.That people, including their genes and culture, are shaped by their environment is the point he gets, and some of the ideas in this book are unique and you won't find them anywhere else. I would take them more as research hypotheses to be tested than firm conclusions. But they are worth investigating. For example, life in the extreme north, with agriculture and animal husbandry, led to lactose tolerance, blue eyes and lighter skin pigment. What else might have it led to? Did the winter lead to a culture of working to store for the future? Did reliability of partners become more important for the same reason? We now have better tools and methodologies to investigate these questions than in the 1990s when this book was written. For example, the skin pigmentation and blue eyes conclusions result from genome analysis of European remains of many individuals from 5000 to 7000 years ago. This technique was not available at the time of the book.Now, however, the ideas in the book, separately interesting and testable apart from any preconceptions of "race", are discarded and not present in the literature. It seems as if Rushton in the rush to publicize his ideas over the objections of liberal academics may have evoked a severe counter reaction that suppressed any ideas of merit along with the racial overtones. I am not interested in old debates about political correctness. I am looking for ideas to test wherever they may be. Anyone who cannot think and evaluate for themselves should, I suppose, not read the book. But if you have read this review thus far, you are thinking pretty hard, I'd imagine.I read this book many years ago. No, I wasn't one of the luminaries on the first mailing. I was on the 2nd mailing. For what reason, I can't imagine. I had not at the time published any papers of note. Most of my publications were 2005 or later, and not in social sciences until about 2009. More recently I began looking into human migration patterns and how they might have effected the evolution of cooperation. This investigation is not finished, though I have written one solid paper on the evolution of cooperation as balancing selection in overdominance. So I went looking for my copy. It is easy to lose such a tiny book. My wife found it. I then went to locate it online and investigate the history of the book and found the [unsurprising] controversy. I thought I would weigh in. If the idea of it is incendiary to you, don't read it. If you are interested in finding a few interesting ideas for thought or research that might make your career as an evolutionary biologist if they can be borne out, by all means comb through it.The present holds some mysteries. Why does democracy work some places and not others? Why do some regions of the world hold to kin-cooperation while others embrace non-kin cooperation? And is there a downside to large scale non-kin cooperation (hint: patriotism makes it easy to raise large armies)? Consider the map of degrees of kin-cooperation in Ben Enke's NBER paper "Kinship Systems, Cooperation and the Evolution of Culture" which I've loaded to (the NBER is a government agency, and I have access to it, everyone should have access). If there is a genetic component, maybe it won't work to sponsor revolutions and hope the people will organize democratic liberal institutions afterward. Heck, even if it is cultural, maybe that won't work. Maybe that won't even work in Europe. Maybe in some conditions kin-cooperation is more reliable than non-kin cooperation. Maybe kin-cooperation societies are less susceptible to the support of empires. Humans seem to have a tendency to believe that they can wish things to be a certain way, and the universe will comply. But the truth is we have to ask, and test our answers.

In a world full of political correctness and leftist propaganda, this book was a nice dosage of race realism. Get them before they're banned.

Excellent, redpilled book. Those attacking it cannot grapple with it's lucid and cogent arguments; however, their feelings are hurt. Sad!
